The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU A), located on the second floor west, was opened in December 2013 with 31 beds as one of the most equipped cardiac intensive care units in the Middle East.

ICU A ward is equipped with a separate space for 4 beds for patient admission, with a nursing station (for every four beds) along with all necessary supplies, equipment and facilities, and 2 rooms with 3 beds and 2 separate transplant rooms, out of these 32 beds, are fixed, and 2 are isolated rooms for infectious patients.

Other equipment in this ward for critical care includes: echo, ECG, shock, portable monitor, perfusion, WarmTouch, blood warmer and nebulizer, wave mattress, etc.

    9 beds in this section are equipped with monitors, central oxygen and suction manometers, and 2 of the total beds are isolated and equipped with negative pressure, and have separate facilities for toilet and bathroom, television and refrigerator. In addition, other equipment in this section for special care includes: echo, ECG, shock, portable monitor, perfusion, WarmTouch blood warmer and nebulizer, wave mattress, double phototherapy, portable ventilator, etc.
