Adult Catheterism Department Overview

This department is considered one of the scientific poles of the country, with its unique medical equipment and the use of interventional cardiologists. This department has 7 adult angiography rooms, two of which are hybrid. Currently, more than 51,000 medical operations are performed annually in more than 20 different types of intervention, and this department has been able to take positive steps in the progress and advancement of invasive procedures.

Pediatric Catheterism Department Overview

This department is considered one of the scientific hubs of the country, with its unique medical equipment and the use of pediatric interventional cardiologists. This department has two pediatric angiography rooms and currently performs more than 2,200 pediatric surgeries in more than 20 different types of interventions annually, and this department has been able to take positive steps in the advancement and advancement of interventional procedures.

    Complications and risks
    Complications such as bruising and bleeding at the catheter site are rare. More serious complications (heart attack, stroke, arrhythmia) are much rarer and usually occur in people who are already seriously ill. If you have chest pain, tell your doctor immediately.

    Pharmaceutical and food preparations
    Before the catheterization, be sure to talk to your doctor about any medications you are taking (especially blood thinners). You should not eat or drink anything from midnight the night before the angiogram. If you are allergic to the contrast material, a steroid injection and antihistamine can reduce the risk of complications.

    Postoperative care
    After angiography/angioplasty, you should lie down for a few hours and stretch your legs. You should not do any strenuous activity or lift heavy objects for 48 to 72 hours. Drink plenty of fluids to help flush out the contrast agent. Driving is not recommended for a few days after angioplasty.
